MAGURA MDR-C Disc Brake Rotor – 6-Bolt Mount, 160–220 mm
The MAGURA MDR-C is a bicycle disc brake rotor designed for prolonged braking and high system weights. The manufacturer describes the rotor as offering high braking force and good heat resistance, which is useful on long descents and with heavier loads. A stiffening ring helps reduce vibration and keeps the rotor quiet in use.
The rotor is made from martensitic chrome steel with anti-rust properties. The production process includes punching, heat treatment, dip painting, corrosion protection and sanding. The rotor is 2 mm thick, with a wear limit of 1.8 mm, so you can check wear by measuring the thickness.
It attaches to the hub with six bolts (6-hole mount). Six steel mounting screws are included in the box, so the screws you need come with the rotor. The MDR-C is available in four diameters: 160, 180, 203 and 220 mm. Smaller diameters suit lighter use, while larger ones are better for long descents or heavier bikes. Before ordering, check that the chosen size is compatible with your brake caliper, caliper mount and frame or fork.
The MDR-C works as a replacement for a worn rotor or as an upgrade on a bike with a 6-hole hub. It is engineered in Germany.
